Junior Estimator – Fire Door Manufacturing
Location: Lenham Heath, Kent
We are looking for a Junior Estimator to join our growing fire door manufacturing business. We are open to candidates with no or little experience looking to develop.
This role would suit someone who is organised, analytical, and commercially minded, with the ability to work accurately, manage multiple enquiries, and communicate effectively within the office . Training and support will be provided, particularly for junior candidates.
The Role
- Preparing accurate quotations for fire door and associated works
- Reviewing drawings, specifications, and tender information
- Measuring and taking off quantities from drawings and documents
- Liaising with the workshop and production team to understand build processes and costs
- Communicating with office staff and management regarding pricing and lead times
- Updating and maintaining pricing, cost data, and estimating records
- Assisting with tender submissions where required
What We’re Looking For
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Ability to manage multiple enquiries and work to deadlines
- Confident using Microsoft Excel and general office software
- Willingness to learn and develop within a specialist industry
Desirable (but not essential)
- Estimating experience within joinery, doorsets, or manufacturing
- Understanding of fire door standards and specifications
- Experience working from technical drawings
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 or quality management systems
- Experience with BM Trada Field of Application Reports
Pay
- Competitive – dependent on experience
Hours
- Monday – Thursday: 7.30am – 4.30pm
- Friday: 7.30am – 3.30pm
- 28 days holiday including bank holidays
