Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Kitchen Assistant/Chef to join our culinary team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in preparing and serving high-quality meals, ensuring food safety standards are maintained, and supporting the overall smooth operation of our kitchen. Duties
- Assist in meal preparation and food presentation in accordance with established recipes and standards
- Support the cooking process by preparing ingredients, assembling dishes, and ensuring timely service
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing utensils, equipment, and work surfaces
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times
- Assist with catering events, including setting up and serving food to guests
- Monitor stock levels and notify management of supplies needed for upcoming service periods
- Support the team during busy periods by providing excellent customer service and serving meals as required
- Follow health and safety procedures to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment
Experience
- Previous experience in a restaurant or catering environment is highly desirable
- Proven skills in cooking, meal preparation, and food presentation
- Familiarity with food safety standards and best practices in a professional kitchen setting
- Experience with food preparation for large groups or catering events is advantageous
- Knowledge of kitchen equipment operation and basic culinary techniques
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
