Duties
- Prepare a variety of sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes with precision and artistry
- Maintain high standards of food safety, cleanliness, and hygiene in all kitchen areas
- Source fresh ingredients and ensure proper storage to preserve quality and freshness
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure timely meal preparation and service
- Assist in menu development by suggesting innovative sushi options and presentation styles
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs to management
- Serve dishes with professionalism, engaging with guests to enhance their dining experience
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food preparation, particularly in sushi or Japanese cuisine
- Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, knife skills, and ingredient handling
- Prior kitchen experience in a restaurant or culinary setting is essential
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and proper sanitation practices
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Serving experience is a plus, demonstrating customer service skills in a hospitality environment
