Right, proper techs, eyes up. If timing chains, clutches and engine strip-downs are the jobs you fight to get — and servicing is the stuff you're sick of getting lumbered with — we should talk.
You're good at this. So why are you spending half your week on oil changes, watching a bonus scheme designed so you never quite get there, and being a number to a head office that's never met you?
**The bit you'll read twice**
**£45,000 a year.** Not "OTE". Not "up to". Not "depending on how the bonus lottery lands". £45,000 — with regular pay reviews that actually happen.
**Monday to Friday, 8:30 to 5:30. No weekends.** Not "occasional Saturdays". None. Ever.
**31 days' holiday including all of Christmas and New Year off** — because family time isn't a perk, it's the point.
**No servicing.** We have specialist techs for the routine work — and they're very good at it. Your week is timing chains, clutches, engine work and diagnostics. Yes, the odd basic repair gets tagged onto a big job (that's real life), but your ramp is for the proper stuff.
**The toys**
Dealer-level diagnostics — Topix, Odis, Xentry and more — plus full access to dealer online systems, wiring diagrams and TSBs. Dealer kit, none of the dealer grind.
A clean, organised workshop where you deal with ZERO customers — that's front of house's job, start to finish. Jobs land on your ramp properly written up, and nobody here will drop you in it.
As much training and coaching as you can handle — diagnostics and EV especially. Already EV qualified? You'll go straight on that work. Not yet? We'll fund the qualification. The trade's going that way and we're taking our techs with it. You ask, you go.
**The work**
JLR, VW, Audi, Porsche and Mercedes, all day, every day. Timing chains and belts. Clutches. Engine strip-downs to replace faulty components. Major mechanical repairs done properly, to manufacturer standard. And diagnostics — with full backing to build that side if you want it. The best techs see where a job's going wrong before it does. That's you.
**About you**
- 3+ years as a qualified technician with real big-job experience — chains, clutches, engine work you can brag about
- Confident reading wiring diagrams and repair instructions
- Full UK driving licence
- Level 3 IMI or equivalent preferred
- IMI EV qualification or real-world EV/hybrid experience a big plus — and if you haven't got it, we'll train you
**The stuff that makes the day better**
Free Food Fridays. Badminton matches at lunch. A pull-up bar that's started more competitions (and arguments) than it's fixed postures. Free ice creams when it's roasting. Staff socials worth turning up to. Small things — but they're the difference between a job and a place you actually like being.
**What matters most: attitude.** Cars fight back. Bolts shear. Jobs go sideways. We want the tech who stays calm, works the problem, and keeps the crew's spirits up — not the one throwing tools and blaming the world. We're a close-knit, family-run team of 15 in Brownhills and we protect that culture like it's stock on the shelf.
**Not got the experience yet, but got the attitude?**
If you can't tick the boxes above but you're serious about becoming this kind of technician, we'll still hear you out — attitude is the one thing we can't teach. Don't click apply: email Matt directly at [email protected] and tell us why you're worth a conversation.
Still reading? Good — that's the attitude we want. Hit apply, or come and have a confidential chat. We move fast for the right person, so don't hang about.
