Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Nursery Housekeeper to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment within our nursery. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all areas are hygienic, organised, and conducive to the comfort and wellbeing of children and staff. Prior experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial services is highly desirable. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to a nurturing environment while working in a professional setting.
Duties
- Perform regular cleaning and disinfecting of nursery rooms, play areas, toilets, and communal spaces to meet health and safety standards.
- Maintain organisation of toys, learning materials, and equipment, ensuring they are clean and stored appropriately.
- Restock supplies such as tissues, hand sanitiser, and cleaning products as needed.
- Ensure waste is disposed of correctly and bins are emptied regularly.
- Follow cleaning schedules and procedures to uphold hygiene standards consistently.
- Report any maintenance issues or hazards promptly to management.
- Adhere to health and safety policies at all times during cleaning activities.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial work is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to perform thorough cleaning tasks efficiently.
- Organised with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively within a busy environment.
- Good understanding of health and safety regulations related to cleaning procedures.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Reliable with a positive attitude towards maintaining a safe and hygienic nursery environment.
