Duties
- Accurately dispense prescribed medications to patients following pharmacy protocols and safety guidelines
- Verify prescriptions for correctness, dosage, and appropriateness before dispensing
- Assist pharmacists with medication preparation, labeling, and packaging to ensure timely delivery
- Provide excellent customer service by answering patient inquiries and offering medication guidance
- Maintain organized records of dispensed medications, inventory levels, and prescription details
- Support medication administration processes under supervision, ensuring compliance with legal standards
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to clarify prescriptions and resolve any discrepancies or issues
Requirements
- Prior experience as a pharmacy technician or in a similar medication dispensing role, NVQ 2 dispensing qualification required.
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures and pharmacy software systems
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in dispensing and recordkeeping
- Excellent communication skills for patient interaction and team collaboration
- Ability to follow safety protocols diligently and maintain confidentiality at all times
- Basic understanding of patient care principles related to medication management
- Certification or training in pharmacy practice or medication .
