A physical, hands-on assembly job in Buckingham. You will be on your feet all day, handling timber, working machines and power tools to build finished products. Day shifts, and you are done by 11am on a Friday.
About the role
A well-established timber products manufacturer in [town] is looking for Assembly Operatives to join their production team. You will be assembling wooden pallets and timber packaging, operating production machinery and using power tools and automatic screwdrivers to put products together to size and spec.
Be clear on what this is. It is a heavy, physical job in a busy production environment. You will be lifting and handling timber, standing all day, and working at pace. If that suits you, it is steady work with regular hours and no weekends.
What you will do
- Assemble wooden pallets and timber packaging to the required sizes and specifications
- Operate production machinery safely and to the correct settings
- Use power tools and automatic screwdrivers throughout the day
- Lift, move and handle timber and finished products
- Check your own work for quality before it moves on
- Keep your work area clean, tidy and safe
What you will bring
- Genuine physical fitness. This job involves lifting and handling timber all day and you need to be comfortable with that
- Experience in a production, manufacturing, timber, construction or warehouse environment
- Confident using power tools, including automatic screwdrivers
- Good hand skills and accuracy working at pace
- Reliability and good timekeeping
- Ability to get to [town] for the shift start times below
What is on offer
- £13.21 per hour
- Day shifts, either 6am to 2pm or 7am to 4.30pm, with an 11am finish on Friday
- No nights and no weekends
- Ongoing work with a long-established manufacturer with a possibility of contract
