Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced HGV Class 2 Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely operating a Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) Class 2 truck, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of goods to various locations. Duties
- Safely operate a Class 2 heavy goods vehicle, adhering to all road safety regulations and company policies
- Load, secure, and unload cargo using flatbed or other specified equipment, ensuring proper handling and safety procedures are followed
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to identify any maintenance issues or safety concerns
- Deliver goods directly to customer sites , providing excellent customer service with professionalism and courtesy
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and records of all transactions and vehicle inspections
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery status, delays, or issues encountered during routes
Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) driving license with a clean driving record
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed or similar cargo types
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and transportation laws
- Delivery driver experience with a focus on timely deliveries and customer satisfaction
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as loading/unloading cargo and securing loads on flatbeds
- Good communication skills and a professional attitude when interacting with clients and team members
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including early mornings or weekends as needed
