Are you looking for a new challenge and have a specialist interest in Diabetes or Endocrine? We are please to advertise a newly create post for Oxford Centre for Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism (OCDEM) Clinical Service Unit (CSU)
We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed pharmacists to join our team. You will lead all aspects of diabetes and endocrine adult services within OCDEM which is a CSU within the Specialist Medicine Directorate.
The post holders will be active members of both the Pharmacy and Sterile Services and act as experts within Diabetes and Endocrine services.
Delivering clinical practice and service development for patient care ensuring the best experience and outcomes for patients from their medicines whenever and wherever their care is delivered.
There will be opportunities to develop clinical assessment skills, pharmacist-led clinics, be involved in the assessment of patients and delivery of care.
- Be or become a knowledge expert in clinical pharmacy relating to diabetes and endocrine including prescribing, screening, advising, and optimising medicines use in the area.
- Promote, monitor, and improve the safe and cost-effective use of medicines within diabetes and endocrine through regular communication, budgetary reports and feedback to the directorate including biologic medicines where appropriate.
- Develop and lead the pharmacy service to OCDEM CSU.
- Routinely review, update, or develop diabetes and endocrine, medicines related guidelines.
- To support the clinical management of patients who receive endocrine and diabetes treatments from the Trust.
- Have delegated responsibility for specific aspects of the diabetes pharmacy service and endocrine pharmacy service as agreed with the Directorate Pharmacist e.g. attendance at CSU executive or Governance meetings.
- Support and deputise for the Directorate Pharmacist in the provision of a safe, effective, and efficient clinical pharmacy service to the OCDEM CSU, in accordance with local and national standards and strategy.
- To support clinicians and Pharmacy homecare teams with the management of patients who have been enrolled onto homecare medicines supply
- To set up and lead pharmacist-led clinics for the treatment diabetes and endocrine and support MDTs.
