Working collaboratively with department heads, the Executive Housekeeper will evaluate existing practices, implement operational improvements, and foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement. EXECUTIVE HOUSEKEEPER – POSITION OVERVIEW
The Executive Housekeeper leads all housekeeping operations, including guest accommodations, public areas and laundry services, ensuring exceptional standards of cleanliness, presentation and service are consistently achieved throughout the Club. This role provides leadership, coaching and accountability for the housekeeping team while establishing operating standards, staffing plans, training programmes and performance expectations that support a culture of excellence.
Working closely with department leaders, the Executive Housekeeper promotes operational consistency, cross-department collaboration and continuous improvement while identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency without compromising service quality. The role also leads Health & Safety within the department, fostering a safe working environment and ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, policies and best practices. Success requires a visible, hands-on leadership style, exceptional organisational skills and an unwavering commitment to detail and hospitality.
KEY PRIORITIES FOR SUCCESSFUL TRANSITIONING
· Establish credibility and rapport with the housekeeping team and broader staff.
· Evaluate current housekeeping standards, workflows, and staffing structure.
· Ensure consistency in service delivery across all areas of responsibility.
· Assess inventory systems, equipment condition, and supply management practices.
INITIAL PRIORITIES OF THE NEW EXECUTIVE HOUSEKEEPER
· Conduct a comprehensive review of housekeeping operations.
· Align departmental standards with overall Club expectations.
· Strengthen communication between departments.
· Improve training programs and operational efficiency.
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS
· Proven experience in a senior housekeeping leadership role.
· Strong operational knowledge of housekeeping functions.
· Leadership and team development skills.
· Strong communication and organizational abilities.
· Experience in budgeting and cost control.
