Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and attentive Night Companion to provide dedicated overnight support for individuals in need of care. Responsibilities
- Monitor clients throughout the night, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times
- Assist with nighttime routines such as toileting, repositioning,and mobility support
- Provide companionship to reduce feelings of loneliness and promote emotional well-being
- Respond promptly to emergencies or needs that arise during the night, including first aid if necessary
- Prepare light meals or snacks as needed and assist with hydration
- Manage behavior issues with patience and effective techniques, especially in cases involving dementia or Alzheimer's care
Skills
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or senior care environments
- Strong patient care skills with a focus on dementia, Alzheimer's, hospice, or home care settings
- Knowledge of medication administration, first aid, and emergency response procedures
- Ability to handle heavy lifting safely when assisting residents with mobility needs
- Excellent communication skills to provide reassurance and clear documentation
- Valid driver’s license preferred for transportation duties if required
- Compassionate demeanor with the ability to manage challenging behaviors effectively
