Overview
Henley Stone Specialists are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of cost control and financial planning throughout the lifecycle of construction projects. Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects in collaboration with project managers and clients.
- Monitor project costs regularly, ensuring adherence to budgets and identifying potential overruns early.
- Conduct risk assessments related to financial aspects of projects and develop mitigation strategies.
- Analyse tenders and assist in the procurement process by evaluating bids and negotiating contracts.
- Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions, variations, and claims throughout the project duration.
- Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure transparency and efficiency in financial dealings.
- Provide regular reports on project financial status to senior management and clients.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and company policies regarding financial management.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or in a similar role within the construction industry.
- Demonstrable expertise in cost control, budgeting, and financial planning for large-scale projects.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and contractual procedures.
- Proficiency in industry-standard software such as Bluebeam, or equivalent tools.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience with Microsoft office (Excel/Word)
