Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) or Student Veterinary Nurse (SVN) to join our small, friendly veterinary team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise and develop your clinical skills in a supportive environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care, assisting with consultations, and supporting the overall wellbeing of our animal patients. Prior veterinary experience is highly desirable for this position.
Flexible working hours available. No OOH, Saturday morning shifts on rota. Accomodation available.
Salary dependent on hours worked and experience.

Responsibilities
- Delivering comprehensive nursing care to a wide range of animal patients, including administering medication, wound management, and monitoring recovery.
- Assisting veterinary surgeons during examinations, procedures, and surgeries with professionalism and attention to detail.
- Maintaining accurate patient records in accordance with clinic protocols and legal requirements.
- Preparing animals for procedures, including sedation or anaesthesia, and monitoring their vital signs throughout.
- Supporting laboratory work such as sample collection, analysis, and processing to aid diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Educating pet owners on post-operative care, medication administration, and general animal health advice.
- Ensuring the cleanliness and organisation of the nursing station, treatment areas, and equipment to uphold hygiene standards.
- Participating in emergency cases as needed, providing critical nursing support under supervision.
Requirements
- Registration as a Veterinary Nurse or enrolment as a Student Veterinary Nurse with relevant professional body.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise confidently with clients and team members.
- Compassionate attitude towards animals and their owners, demonstrating professionalism at all times.
- Ability to work well both independently and within a team setting.
- Flexibility to adapt to varying workload demands whilst maintaining high standards of care.
