Polden Medical Practice is an expanding GP practice which consists of two surgeries, one in the village of Edington and one in the village of Woolavington. We are committed to providing a high level of care to our patients and we have an exciting opportunity available for a dispenser to join our friendly and dedicated Dispensary team.
You are required to have a NVQ 2 qualification in dispensing.
Our staff are required work at both surgeries (they are roughly a 10-minute drive from each other).
Your day-to-day duties would include (but would not be limited to) accurate and efficient dispensing of both acute and repeat prescriptions, ordering and booking in stock with NHS resources and practice profitability in mind and answering patient queries, be that at the hatch, via phone or by email.
As a member of the Dispensary team, you will need to be approachable, professional and knowledgeable in assisting our patients. You will need to have at least 6 months previous experience dispensing (within the last 5 years). You will need to be competent with a computer. A working knowledge of the EMIS system would be beneficial, but we can provide on-the-job training.
We are currently looking to fill around 16-20 hours per week over a 2 day period, (Thursday, Friday).
The Practice is operational between the hours of 8.00am to 6.30pm and flexibility will be required to cover ad-hoc annual leave, sickness, and our Saturday morning clinics on a rota basis (roughly 1 in 11). There is an expectation to open or close the dispensary at least once a week as part of the core hours (8:15am start or 6:30pm finish) as this helps share it fairly between the team.
We welcome any reliable, enthusiastic applicants who are able to use their initiative and self-motivate. It's an important job that's both challenging and rewarding - providing a good sense of achievement at the end of each day.
