Summary:
Devon Surface Care is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our fun, hard-working team. This role will be focused on delivering our larger cleaning contracts, using jet washing tools and methods. Based from Tiverton, our Operators travel across Devon, Somerset and Cornwall to provide cleaning on domestic and commercial sites. We pride ourselves on delivering an excellent service to our customers, and in going above and beyond to overcome any obstacles.
Description:
The role of Operator involves competently performing practical cleaning and maintenance tasks at the core of DSC’s activities, always embodying the values that we champion. Taking regular instruction from Site Supervisor or Operations Manager, they will complete on-site tasks to ensure smooth completion of DSC projects. They will not be regularly left alone on site but are expected to manage their own time/ tasks, complete set targets and maintain accurate record keeping.
They will be expected to handle their individual responsibilities throughout the working day: for good preparation before site work begins; for an excellent standard of workmanship at all times; and timely (unhurried, well-presented) completion of the day’s objectives.
They will commit to training and development of required skills and qualifications to complete their duties (IPAF, PASMA, CSCS, First Aid). Likewise, where appropriate and with guidance from Site Supervisor/ Lead Operator to work towards an increased confidence of practical skills and procedures of DSC’s core offerings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Off-site preparation: To select tools, clothing and protective equipment, and pack vehicles.
- On-site preparation: Clear obstacles and furniture, set up tools, apparatus and access equipment, set up exclusion zones and safe working apparatus.
- Site work: To complete on site cleaning and maintenance tasks as instructed by site lead to ensure smooth and safe completion of daily site objectives.
- Tool Operation: To operate tools and machinery in accordance with company procedures.
- Labouring: Safe manual handling of equipment and waste.
- Minor repairs/ Remedial work: Where appropriate, to assist with basic maintenance tasks under supervision.
- Completion & De-mobilisation: To tidy site, pack away all equipment, replace any moved obstacles and furniture. Unload vehicles once back at base, and ensure tools are ready for the next day.
- Record Keeping: Report to site lead details of work completed and any objectives not met with reasons; complete daily timesheets and photo documentation; report any damaged tools and low consumable stock.
- Training: Commitment to training and development of required skills and qualifications.
