Overview
Kenyon Paints is a family run company with 40 years in trading. We manufacture and distribute Industrial Paints and Protective Coatings throughout the UK. We are looking to recruit a bright, presentable, customer focused candidate to join our team, working in our Trade Counter / Warehouse and also colour mix paint to client requirements (with training). You will need to have an open and friendly personality - happy to help both customers and colleagues.
Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in selecting products that meet their needs.
- Provide detailed product information and answer customer queries confidently.
- Upsell additional items and promote ongoing promotions to maximise sales opportunities.
- Maintain organised merchandising displays to attract customer attention.
- Process transactions accurately using point-of-sale systems and handle cash or card payments.
- Manage stock levels, restock shelves, comfortable with handling weights up to 25KG.
- Offer excellent phone etiquette when taking orders or answering enquiries via telephone.
- Inputting orders onto Sage 50 (training provided)
- Assist with inventory management and record keeping to ensure stock accuracy.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve sales targets and enhance overall store performance.
Requirements
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse customers.
- Organised with excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Basic computer skills for Microsoft office etc.
- Basic maths skills for handling transactions and managing stock counts accurately.
- Proven organisational skills with an eye for detail in merchandising and display setup.
- Ability to demonstrate good phone etiquette when interacting with customers over the phone.
- Experience in upselling or promoting products is desirable but not essential; training will be provided.
- Previous retail or sales experience is advantageous but not mandatory; a positive attitude and willingness to learn are essential.
- Attention to detail.
- A driving licence and/or fork truck license would be an advantage but not essential.
