The Opportunity
Looking to turn your engineering studies into real-world, hands-on experience? We are hiring a Part-Time Engineering Assembly Technician to join our team at our brand-new Bridgwater facility.
This role is tailored for a student or trainee currently pursuing an engineering qualification who wants to gain practical mechanical and electrical workshop skills alongside their studies. We will work with you to arrange your 10–20 hours per week within our core operational window (Hours – 8am – 5pm – Mon to Thurs, 8am -2pm Fri) so your work seamlessly fits around your lectures and coursework.
Key Responsibilities
- Assembly & Manufacturing: Assemble mechanical and electrical products using a range of hand tools and power tools.
- Technical Blueprint Reading: Follow detailed instructions and technical drawings to ensure accurate mechanical and electrical assembly.
- Component Handling: Work practically with mechanical fasteners structural panels, sensors, valves, pipework, and wiring sub-assemblies.
- Quality & Diagnostics: Inspect finished products, conduct basic fault-finding, and ensure compliance with specifications and safety guidelines.
- Workshop Upkeep: Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised workspace while collaborating with experienced engineers to hit daily production goals.
Requirements
- Education: Currently enrolled in or studying toward a qualification in Engineering (A-Levels, Level 3/T-Level, HNC, HND, BEng, or equivalent, ).
- Practical Aptitude: Basic mechanical/electrical hands-ability and comfort using hand and power tools.
- Technical Mindset: Ability to read and interpret basic technical drawings.
- Skills: Strong attention to detail, precision, physical stamina for workshop tasks, and a collaborative attitude.
