The Role
As a Mechanical Project Manager at MKG, you will take full ownership of project delivery — from pre‑construction planning through to commissioning and handover. You will ensure all works are completed safely, compliantly, on programme, and to the highest technical standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage mechanical projects from inception to completion
- Oversee programme, budget control, procurement, and resource planning
- Ensure compliance with CDM 2015, Building Safety Act, statutory requirements, and MKG safety procedures
- Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams
- Ensure the review and approve RAMS, permits, isolations, and technical documentation
- Maintain accurate project records, reporting, and client communication
- Coordinate commissioning, testing, and production of O&M documentation
- Drive quality assurance and ensure installations meet specification and industry standards
- Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, and stakeholders
About You
We’re looking for someone who brings both technical expertise and strong leadership.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience managing or supervising mechanical or HVAC projects
- Good understanding of building services, M&E coordination, and commissioning process
- Good organisational and communication skills
- Ability to manage projects around £10,000 to £150,000.00 and meet deadlines
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Experience working in live, occupied environments (schools, hospitals, commercial buildings)
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable Qualifications
- SMSTS / SSSTS
- Mechanical/HVAC trade background or engineering qualification
- Experience with Simpro or similar project management software
