Freelance Event Noise Monitor
One Love / One Sun Festival – Bentley Estate, Halland, East Sussex21–22 August 2026
One Love / One Sun Festival is looking for an independent and suitably qualified person to undertake off-site noise monitoring during our two-day outdoor music event at Bentley Estate near Lewes.
This is a monitoring role working to an existing Noise Management Plan prepared by an experienced acoustic consultant. You will be supported by an established production team, including stage managers, sound engineers, security and Event Control, who will carry out any adjustments required.
Main duties
- Take noise readings at identified off-site boundaries and nearby receptor locations.
- Carry out monitoring runs at appropriate intervals, initially around every two hours.
- Pay particular attention to the nearest campsite after 11pm.
- Respond to any noise concerns passed through Event Control.
- Keep a straightforward log of readings, observations and recommendations.
- Communicate any required adjustments to Event Control and the production team.
- Provide monitoring records following the event.
Separate monitoring systems at each stage are not required. The event’s stage managers and sound engineers will manage the on-site systems and implement any adjustments advised.
Essential requirements
Applicants should have practical experience of environmental or event-noise monitoring and preferably hold one or both of the following:
- IOA Certificate of Competence in Environmental Noise Measurement.
- IOA Diploma in Acoustics and Noise Control.
Applicants should be able to provide their own suitable calibrated sound-level meter and acoustic calibrator for off-site monitoring.

- Friday 21 and Saturday 22 August 2026.
- Bentley Estate, Halland, near Lewes, East Sussex.
- Late-night cover required, with music ending at approximately 2am.
- Attendance hours to be agreed.
- Freelance fixed-term contract.
- Fee by agreement based on experience and availability.
One Love is an established event with an experienced production and site-management team. Clear communication procedures are already in place with Event Control, neighbouring businesses and the relevant authorities.
