This is a workshop-based role focused on producing batches of fabricated steel components to a consistently high standard. You'll work from engineering drawings and welding procedures to manufacture repeat production items efficiently while maintaining excellent quality.
Responsibilities
- MIG weld mild steel components.
- Manufacture batch-produced parts to specification.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Set up and operate welding equipment safely.
- Check finished work for quality and accuracy.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working area.
- Work efficiently to production schedules and deadlines.
- Report any quality or production issues to the workshop supervisor.
- Assist with general fabrication duties when required.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Previous MIG welding experience.
- Ability to read engineering drawings.
- High attention to detail.
- Good time management and organisational skills.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable:
- Previous experience in a fabrication workshop.
- Fabrication skills.
- Forklift or overhead crane experience (training can be provided).
- Coded welding qualifications (advantageous but not essential).
Pay: £12.71-£28.19 per hour
