The role:
Production Planner to ensure the efficient planning and coordination of manufacturing activities across the site. Together, you will develop and maintain accurate production schedules, ensuring customer demand is met while balancing manufacturing capacity, material availability, and operational priorities.
You will coordinate the availability of raw materials and packaging, monitor stock levels, and liaise with Procurement, Warehouse, Quality Assurance, and Production teams to ensure everything is in place for the production plan to be executed successfully. You will also help identify potential risks to the production schedule, communicate changes promptly, and support the resolution of any planning or supply issues.
This role requires excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. By working closely with the Production Planner and cross-functional teams, you will play a key role in maintaining production continuity, improving operational efficiency, and ensuring products are delivered on time while meeting the highest quality standards.
This is a full-time position based at our headquarters in Kendal, Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm.
What you’ll be doing;
- Support the Production Planner in creating and maintaining accurate production schedules.
- Coordinate material availability to ensure production runs efficiently.
- Monitor stock levels and stock rotation to minimise waste.
- Liaise with Procurement, Warehouse, QA, and Production teams to resolve planning and material issues.
- Track supplier deliveries and communicate any delays or changes.
- Raise purchase orders and maintain accurate planning records.
- Monitor production progress and communicate schedule changes where required.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of planning and scheduling processes.
What you’ll need:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Good numerical skills, with GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and meet deadlines.
- Previous experience in production planning, scheduling, or manufacturing is desirable.
- Experience using ERP or planning systems (such as CSB) would be advantageous, although full training will be provided.
