CG Electrical South Ltd is an electrical contractor working on predominantly commercial and retail projects in the South East and throughout the UK.
We are hiring for the role of Purchasing & Stores Assistant to help in maintaining a functioning stores and assisting with purchasing-related tasks. This is an entry level role ideal for someone starting out in their career, looking for a career change or leaving college.
This is a role that will require you to spend a reasonable amount of the day on your feet and handling heavy items in a safe way so please consider if this is something you are comfortable doing before applying.
The responsibilities include:
- Creating purchase orders
- Handling deliveries and returns
- Picking/preparing materials for field staff to collect to take to site
- Ensuring stores room remains tidy and adheres to health and safety guidelines
- Other miscellaneous tasks to help the department run smoothly
It is important that the right candidate understands the importance of:
- Communicating well with our site teams and office colleagues
- Building professional relationships with suppliers
- Following health and safety guidelines at all times and playing a part in keeping the work environment safe for others, undertaking health and safety training where required
Ideal skillset:
- Computer literate
- Strong communication both verbal and written
- Willing to learn and progress
- Physically fit as some deliveries will be bulky
- Proactive approach to problem solving
- Able to work to deadlines
Electrical/trade background useful but not essential as you can learn on the job.
Previous experience in a similar role useful but also not essential
This role is open to being full or part time with hours to be discussed in interview. Normal office hours are Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm.
Salary range is approximate for an entry level role. Pay to be discussed at interview stage and may change dependent on experience. Salary is pro rata.
