Mont Rose College is seeking to employ enthusiastic and committed Lecturers in the field of Digital Technologies. Applications are invited from individuals holding a Masters (essential) or higher qualification in a relevant subject including computer science, IT, etc., with an ability to teach at undergraduate level. Candidates should be highly organised with strong communication skills.
Job purpose
We are currently seeking a Full-Time Lecturer to teach Digital Technologies related modules as part of our Pearson partnership. Please note our Pearson programme offers Monday to Friday, daytime working hours only.

Key Responsibilities
Teaching
- To take responsibility for the development of learning and teaching materials. This includes curriculum development and the design, enhancement, and organisation of teaching and learning.
- To deliver teaching using different methods such as lectures, seminars, workshops, supervisions or tutorials as set out in module specifications and as appropriate to the discipline.
- To create and upload teaching materials onto Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) as appropriate to the module(s).
- To liaise with the Programme Leader and Internal Verifier to ensure an excellent student experience.
- To keep an accurate record of student attendance and enter data on MRC record systems.
- To ensure that students have an effective learning experience by providing high quality academic guidance and advice and by enhancing their retention/progression and employability.
- To contribute to quality monitoring and enhancement as well as the continuous improvement of the curriculum, teaching, and quality of provision.
- To contribute to developing and promoting employer engagement, student recruitment, and the external profile of the institution to students, employers, partners, and professional bodies.
- To engage appropriately in professional development and active membership of professional bodies to keep abreast of developments in the field.
- To demonstrate good practice in teaching, learning, and assessment, and where required, engage in Teaching Practice Development.
- To attend team meetings where appropriate, work effectively as a team member, and to undertake any training that is essential to completing the role.
- To be responsible for student submission in the programme and ensure students submit on time and make sure this is managed in an efficient manner.
- To undertake professional development in support of teaching and other core activities.
- To ensure compliance with the Data Protection Act (1998), GDPR 2018, the Freedom of Information Act (2001), and all other rules and regulations.
- To undertake any other duties that may reasonably be requested appropriate to the grade and responsibilities of the post.
Assessing and Marking
- To design assessments (where appropriate), assess student output, provide students with timely feedback and feed-forward, and record marks.
- Take responsibility for the development of assessment materials.
- To ensure Formative and Summative submission drop boxes for module(s) are created on time for smooth submissions and assessment of student work.
- To provide constructive and holistic formative and summative feedback to the students according to RQF standards/BNU standards/awarding body standards.
- To keep and maintain accurate records of student grades and send them to the Registry and any other authority as required.
- Contribute to quality monitoring and enhancement as well as the continuous improvement of assessment.
- To contribute to the overall academic integrity of the College.
Research
- To conduct independent research and act as a principal investigator and a project leader, and in so doing;
1. Enhancing the College’s international reputation through research publications of appropriate quantity and quality and contribute to worldwide debate at national and international conferences,
2. Winning research earnings through carefully prepared and successful grant applications,
3. Identifying potential income-generating programmes and collaborative partnerships.
- To supervise research projects.
- To manage any dedicated research staff and students’ research work.
- To provide the mentorship to enable staff and students to develop their skills and academic careers.
- To help promote a collegiate working atmosphere and stimulating environment that will attract further research staff of the highest quality as well as good postgraduate research students.
Analysis and Reporting
- To maintain all student assessment records during the programme and pass updated information to the Registry and other stakeholders as relevant.

The Candidate:
The successful candidate for the post of Lecturer in Digital Technologies will have:
- Experience in teaching Digital Technologies, Computer Science, IT, etc. BTEC Level 4 and 5
- A firm knowhow about RQF teaching and assessing system with reference to Pearson BTEC HND Digital Technologies for England qualifications
- Experience in teaching UK / EU students
- Experience in teaching mature / adult learners from diversified ethnic backgrounds including BAME students
- Ability to engage and motivate students
- Appropriate teaching experience and in depth knowledge of the field
- Experience of curriculum development
- Ability to work as a team member
- Experience to teach and assess remotely using various online tools including MS Teams and/or Google Meet etc.
