Groveland park
Groveland park is a 55 bedded Luxury care home, with a bar, bistro, cinema, library, Private/Fine Dining room, that offers an all inclusive luxury service to our residents. Owned by Queensgate Health Care Ltd, Groveland Park is presently going through a complete refurbishment. We assist those living with dementia and residential needs.
We are looking for an experienced Deputy Manager to join our friendly, caring team and to be part of the Groveland Park Family.
This is a very demanding but rewarding role. It requires an understanding of the flexibility required for this position, which must be met with a positive " can do" attitude. The role is to ensure compliance across the home, undertaking audits to deadlines and support in the management of all staff teams. You need to be proactive in the changes of residents clinical needs, liaising with healthcare professionals and have full understanding of medication management. An understanding of safeguarding and CQC requirements is essential. Flexibility is required to support the needs of the business which can include working weekends and additional hours which can at times be short notice.

Salary: £45,000.00-£50,000.00 per year depending on experience
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday taking on call on rotation which includes weekend cover.

· Person Specification
· 2 years experience in a Deputy role in a residential care home for older people.
· NVQ 3 or equivalent
· Good or above CQC rating in the homes previously Deputy within. (for Care and related matters)
· Strong managerial skills.
· Reliable and punctual.
· Excellent organisational and practical skills.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Good numeracy and literacy skills.
· Excellent personal hygiene.
· Connection with the elderly.
· Professional, understanding, and patient with a warm personality.
· Demonstrates a caring disposition towards others.
· Team player, willing to train and develop colleagues with a positive manner.
Key Responsibilities
· Shared responsibility with Home Manager for the selection, recruitment, induction and training and regular appraisal of all staff in the home.
· In the Home Manager’s absence, full responsibility for the day-to-day management of the home to the CQC and expected group standards.
· Liaison with the Home Manager as required to ensure the effective operation of the Home.
· In conjunction with the Home Manager to monitor CQC standards and ensure effective delivery of quality of care within the home and to liaise effectively with CQC inspectors.
· To engender an atmosphere of co-operation and positivity within the home dealing with Residents, colleagues and suppliers with courtesy and respect at all times.
· To liaise effectively with staff to ensure transfer of information within the Home.
· To ensure that all care staff receive regular supervision.
· To ensure that all staff receive training and any support necessary to facilitate their role and that they follow company policy and procedures at all times.
· In conjunction with the Manager to ensure that an effective staff rota is always in place, cover Seniors where necessary for the safe running of the business.
· Cover on call on a rotational basis.
· To ensure that all staff on night duty are fulfilling their roles and responsibilities and to carry our regular checks as required
· To handle staff disciplinary issues, where necessary, including investigations and effective report writing.
· In conjunction with the Home Manager to provide relevant information to prospective Residents, to make appointments and conduct effective show rounds.
· To arrange trial visits and conduct assessments.
· In conjunction with the Manager to develop and keep up to date care plans which deliver a satisfactory quality of life for all Residents.
· To support service users in making decisions which affect their own lifestyle.
· In conjunction with the Home Manager to report any complaints from service users or relatives, to investigate any complaints effectively and provide remedial action.
· To work within agreed limits of authority for purchases.
· To ensure that the premises are at a high physical standard, fit for purpose and meet all legislative requirements at all times.
· To attend meetings and to assist in forming of company policy as requested.
To perform any other reasonable request by the Manager, or a Director.
