La Maison Bakery & Bistro in Ledbury, Herefordshire is looking for an experienced Head Chef to lead our kitchen. We're owned and operated by Jon Hamilton, founder of Coffee Culture roastery and cafés, bringing together a love of great coffee, honest food, and proper baking under one roof.
This is a genuine lifestyle role for a chef who wants to step away from the pressures of large city kitchens and take ownership of a smaller, community-focused business in a beautiful market town. You'll have real creative input — shaping the menu, sourcing local and seasonal ingredients, and setting the standard for both the bakery and bistro sides of the business.
We're looking for someone who:
- Has proven experience as a Head Chef or strong Sous Chef ready to step up
- Can confidently lead, train, and motivate a small team
- Has a passion for baking as well as bistro-style cooking
- Brings creativity and ideas while maintaining consistency and quality
- Is organised, hands-on, and comfortable managing kitchen operations, ordering, and food costs
- Wants long-term stability and a genuine work-life balance, with early starts but sociable hours
