Title: Commercial Pricing & Profitability Lead
Reporting Line: Finance Director
Location: Rugby or Wednesbury
Working Hours: 38.75 hours per week (Monday to Friday; part-time considered)
Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience)
Role Overview
This role is responsible for owning and driving the company’s pricing strategy, margin performance, and product range optimisation.
The successful candidate will lead the development of dynamic pricing models, maintain price lists, and work closely with Sales to maximise margin and customer profitability.
This is a commercially focused role with limited involvement in core accounting activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and maintain customer and product price lists across the business
- Develop and implement dynamic pricing strategies to optimise margin
- Analyse price elasticity, customer behaviour, and competitive positioning
- Lead margin improvement initiatives across product ranges and customer segments
- Drive range optimisation, including rationalisation and pricing of slow-moving items
- Partner with Sales to set pricing frameworks, discounts, and deal guardrails
- Produce actionable pricing insights, not just reports (e.g. margin leakage, price variance)
- Build and maintain pricing models (Excel / Power BI / ERP-driven)
- Monitor realised margin vs target and drive corrective actions
- Support new product pricing and commercial launch decisions
- Categorise customers to improve service
Skills and Experience
- Demonstrated experience in pricing, margin management, or commercial analysis
- Strong analytical capability with advanced Excel (data modelling essential)
- Experience working with large product ranges / SKU-heavy environments (desirable)
- Commercial mindset – able to challenge Sales and influence pricing decisions
- Experience with pricing tools, ERP systems, or BI tools (Power BI desirable)
- Background may be in commercial finance, pricing, category management, or data analytics
- This role would suit someone who:

- Prefers influencing revenue and margin rather than producing accounts

Pay: £35,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
