Job Summary
We are seeking a experienced, dynamic and skilled Air Conditioning Engineer to join our team to help grow our AC business. You must have knowledge in the design, installation and maintenance of domestic and commercial systems. This role offers an exciting opportunity for the right person to apply your mechanical expertise, leadership abilities, and construction experience in a fast-paced environment. As an integral part of our team, you will eventually be responsible for managing the surveys, quotations and installations whilst maintaining high standards of comfort and safety for our clients and staff. Your proactive approach and technical proficiency will help us deliver reliable climate control solutions that enhance everyday experiences.
Responsibilities
- Help with routine inspections and preventive maintenance on air conditioning units to ensure efficient operation.
- Help with diagnose mechanical faults using schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools; execute repairs promptly to minimize downtime.
- Lead maintenance projects involving AC systems, coordinating with construction teams when necessary.
- Interpret schematics and technical drawings to troubleshoot complex equipment issues accurately.
- Oversee equipment repair tasks, ensuring compliance with safety standards and manufacturer guidelines.
- Manage installation and commissioning of new air conditioning systems in line with project specifications.
- Provide technical guidance and leadership to junior technicians, fostering a collaborative team environment focused on quality workmanship.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to understand complex AC systems.
- Proficiency in reading schematics, technical manuals, and construction drawings.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with experience supervising or mentoring maintenance teams.
- Expertise in equipment repair, troubleshooting, and system optimization for air conditioning units.
- Solid understanding of maintenance procedures for AC systems within commercial or industrial settings.
- Construction experience related to installing or upgrading climate control systems is highly desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a proactive attitude towards system reliability and safety.
- F-Gas Catagory 1 Certification is essential.
- Level 2 NVQ in Air Conditioning is essential.
