Overview
We are seeking a skilled Industrial Sewing Machinist to join our upholstery team. This role involves operating industrial sewing machines to produce high-quality products in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in sewing and a background in working in a workroom or similar settings. Duties
- Operate various types of industrial sewing machines with precision and consistency
- Follow detailed technical specifications and production guidelines to ensure product quality
- Inspect finished products for defects, ensuring adherence to quality standards
- Maintain and troubleshoot sewing equipment, performing basic repairs when necessary
- Organise workstations efficiently to optimise workflow and minimise downtime
- Assist with material handling, including loading and unloading fabrics and finished goods
- Adhere strictly to health and safety protocols within the manufacturing environment
- Able to work with all types of fabrics including leather, lettherette, velvet and so many more
Experience
- Proven experience operating industrial sewing machines is essential
- Previous experience is highly desirable, demonstrating familiarity with logistics and material handling
- Strong sewing skills, with attention to detail and craftsmanship
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality
- Organised, reliable, and capable of following technical instructions precisely
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations relevant to manufacturing settings is advantageous
