Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Painter and Decorator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for applying paint, varnishes, and other finishes to various surfaces, ensuring high-quality workmanship and attention to detail. Duties
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling, and masking to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
- Apply paints, varnishes, wallpapers, and other decorative finishes with precision and care.
- Mix paints and colours as required to achieve desired shades and effects.
- Use a variety of tools including brushes, rollers, spray guns, and scaffolding equipment safely and effectively.
- Ensure all work is completed within specified deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment, including the safe disposal of waste materials.
- Communicate effectively with clients and team members regarding project progress and requirements.
- Follow health and safety regulations at all times to minimise risks on site.
Skills
- Proven experience in construction painting or decorating is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of different types of paints, finishes, and decorating techniques.
- Excellent communication skills in English to liaise with clients and team members clearly.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to plan tasks efficiently.
- Valid driving licence is preferred for travelling between sites.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision or as part of a team.
- Attention to detail ensuring high-quality results on every project.
