Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Mechanic and MOT Tester to join our dynamic automotive team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles, ensuring they meet safety and emissions standards through MOT testing. Duties
- Conduct comprehensive vehicle inspections to identify mechanical issues using schematics and technical manuals
- Perform repairs and maintenance on engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, and other key vehicle components with hand tools and power tools
- Carry out MOT testing in accordance with legal requirements to ensure vehicles meet safety standards
- Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment and perform necessary repairs or replacements
- Assist in assembly, disassembly, and maintenance of automotive parts and systems during repair processes
- Operate welding equipment for structural repairs or component modifications as needed
- Handle heavy lifting safely when moving engines or large parts, adhering to safety protocols
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repair needs clearly and offering maintenance advice
Experience
- Proven experience working as a mechanic with strong mechanical knowledge of various vehicle systems
- Familiarity with schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools for troubleshooting
- Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and heavy lifting techniques
- Knowledge of vehicle assembly processes and routine maintenance procedures
- Previous experience performing MOT tests is highly desirable but not essential; training can be provided for the right candidate
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues efficiently and accurately
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members

Pay: £508.40-£875.87 per week
