Electrical Engineer – Kitchen and Catering Appliances
Location: North-West England (flexibility for travel required)
Duration: 6–12 months (contract)
Working Hours: Night shifts – Site access from 22:00 to 08:00

Project Overview
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support the installation and commissioning of electrical interfaces for kitchen fire suppression systems across multiple catering and commercial kitchen sites in the North-West region. The role involves both survey and installation work, ensuring electrical integration between fire systems and kitchen appliances in compliance with safety regulations and system design requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, test, and commission electrical interfaces between fire suppression systems and catering appliances.
- Modify and connect wiring from circuit breakers within the distribution board.
- Conduct site surveys in advance of installation to assess readiness and identify potential installation issues.
- Complete and return all works and commissioning documentation accurately and on time.
- Work primarily outside normal business hours to avoid operational disruption to kitchen facilities.
- Maintain safety and compliance to all relevant electrical and site standards.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience in electrical installation and commissioning, ideally within catering, kitchen, or fire safety environments.
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings and wiring schematics.
- Comfortable working independently during night shifts and managing own schedule for multiple site visits.

- City & Guilds 2365 Level 3 – Electrical Installations
- City & Guilds 2391 – Inspection and Testing
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)
- CSCS Card (valid and in date)
Licence/Certification:
- Inspection & Testing Certificate (required)
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) (required)
- City & Guilds 2365 Level 3 – Electrical Installations (preferred)
- JIB Gold (required)
