Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN (Special Educational Needs) Learning Support Assistant to join our vibrant educational team.
In this rewarding role, you will work closely with children who have diverse learning needs, including autism and other disabilities, helping to create an inclusive, safe and supportive learning environment. You will play an important role in supporting children to develop their confidence, communication, independence and learning skills.
Responsibilities
- Support children with special educational needs, including autism and other disabilities, within classroom activities and daily routines
- Assist teachers with implementing tailored learning plans and adapting lesson materials to meet individual needs
- Provide one-to-one and small-group support to encourage engagement, communication and social interaction
- Support positive behaviour management by using appropriate reinforcement strategies and maintaining a calm, structured environment
- Monitor children’s progress and provide feedback and observations to teaching staff
- Create a nurturing and encouraging environment where children feel safe, valued and confident
- Support children with personal care where required
- Work collaboratively with teachers and other members of staff to ensure children receive appropriate support
Requirements
- Experience working with children in an educational or care setting, particularly children with autism or other disabilities
- Knowledge or understanding of SEN support strategies and inclusive educational practices
- A patient, caring and adaptable approach
- A genuine passion for supporting children’s development and wellbeing
- Relevant experience in teaching, education or specialist support is advantageous
- Must hold both Child and Adult DBS certificate registered on the DBS Update Service

Pay: £14.50 per hour
