Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated fun loving, attention to detail, experienced Assistant Manager to join The Tankard team. Overseeing day to day operations, staff training and motivation, with cellar & stock management. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the GM as we strive to be the place in Kennington for good food, good company and the kind of warm service that keeps people coming back for relaxed lunches, lively evening, and long afternoons on our roof terrace . This role offers excellent opportunity for career progression within the company.
Duties
- Assist in supervising daily operations, ensuring smooth service and customer satisfaction.
- Support marketing to promote the pubs events, with warm service and lively but well managed atmosphere with 5-star guest experience
- Have strong knowledge and passion for food and drink.
- Support team management by training, mentoring, and motivating staff members across all roles.
- Highly organised, and obsessive about standards and guest experience.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and uphold hygiene standards within the establishment.
- Experienced in cellar work and stock management.
- Manage reservations, events, and service to optimise guest satisfaction.
- Lead by example and from the front.
Qualifications
- Strong background in hospitality.
- Previous experience in team management roles is highly desirable.
- Calm under pressure, highly organised, and again obsessive about standards and guest experience
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in food production.
- Experience with cellar work and stock management.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
- Commercially minded with proactive attitude with excellent organisational and communication skills.

Pay: £34,000.00-£38,000.00 per year
