Baltic Recruitment are currently recruiting for Quality Gate Operative, for a client located in Ferryhill. This is a Temp to Perm role, carrying out quality inspections at designated quality gates on the shop floor, ensuring products meet customer specifications and company quality standards before progressing to the next stage of manufacture.
Quality Gate Operative Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of welding-based components at designated quality gates on the shopfloor.
- Verify that products meet engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Identify, record, and report defects, non-conformances, or quality concerns.
- Work closely with production teams to resolve quality issues and prevent recurrence.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and quality management procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area
Quality Gate Operative Applicants:
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to follow inspection procedures and work instructions.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic computer literacy for recording inspection results.
- Ability to work independently and make objective quality decisions.
Desirable
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or quality inspection environment.
- Experience using inspections aids, gauges fixtures or other inspection tools.
- Knowledge of quality standards and manufacturing processes.

Initially starting on dayshift for induction and training before moving onto a 2-shift rotation.
Hourly rates:
Days: £12.71
2-shift: £15.25
Day Shift:
Monday to Thursday 8am – 5pm and Friday 8am – 12.30pm.
2-Shifts:
Monday to Thursday 2.30pm – 11pm and Friday 12.30pm – 7pm & Monday to Thursday 6am – 2.30pm and Friday 6am – 12.30pm.
Training and support provided to ensure ongoing development and progression within the business, alongside opportunities to mentor and support less experienced team members. Applicants must be 18 or over for health and safety reasons.
