Job Overview
We at KTs Care Angels will be looking to recruit people who are compassionate, considerate and wish to make a real difference to the lives of others. Flexible working hours are offered - from just a few hours each week to full-time – including alternate weekends. The role includes providing personal care and practical support to clients, such as helping people with bathing and dressing, shopping and accompanying them to clubs. In return, full training and support will be given
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Support with medication administration following prescribed guidelines
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs
- Provide emotional support and companionship to clients of all ages, including children and elderly individuals
- Manage behaviour effectively, especially in cases involving dementia or Alzheimer's disease
- Drive clients to appointments or outings safely using company vehicles where applicable
- Perform light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe environment
- Respond promptly to emergency situations using first aid skills when necessary
- Support clients with activities of daily living in a respectful and dignified manner
Requirements
- Previous experience in assisted living, nursing home care, or home support roles is preferred
- Knowledge of patient care practices, including dementia or Alzheimer's care, hospice care, and behaviour management
- Valid driving licence for transporting clients safely when required
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks associated with caregiving duties
- First aid certification is desirable but not essential; training can be provided
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build trusting relationships with clients and their families
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to support vulnerable individuals
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed; reliability is essential
