POSITION: Design Draftsperson
SALARY: Negotiable depending on experience

HOURS: Full-time, Monday to Friday, hours 08:00 – 5:00 (40.25 hr week). Some flexibility on hours is available to allow Friday afternoons off if preferred.

Schoolhill Engineering is a well-established engineering company and leading specialist in the design and manufacture of hydraulic machinery and equipment.
The company is looking to recruit an experienced Design Draftsperson to add to their small drawing office team, based in Tullos, just south of Aberdeen City Centre.
This is a great opportunity for a skilled professional to join a forward-thinking business, specialising in the design and manufacture of high quality hydraulic and mechanical engineered solutions for several industry sectors, including Whisky and Subsea.
JOB ROLE:
- Reporting to and assisting the Drawing Office Manager, you would be tasked with performing all duties associated with product design, as well as improvements and upgrades to existing equipment, while following drawing office standards and procedures. The company uses Solidworks and good experience of this is essential.
- The successful applicants will be involved with design, manufacture, testing and project expediting, working across all departments within our manufacturing operations.
- The role also includes selecting and checking materials, preparation of manufacturing packages and work orders. The busy Drawing Office is the hub of the business, providing assembly and test procedures and manufacturing support to the workshop, preparation of operating/maintenance manuals and technical support to customers.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
- 5 Years drawing office experience with 3D design, preferably in a manufacturing organisation.
- Preferable engineering qualification such as HND or Degree.
- Good experience in use of Solidworks.
- Familiar with simple load and stress calculations.
- Good understanding of mechanical/ hydraulic engineering and machine shop manufacturing processes methodical in approach and accurate.
- Motivated and flexible, punctual & reliable and able to manage time in accordance with meeting customer deadlines.
- Live within a commutable distance and have the right to work in the UK.
