Could you be the person who brings a little more laughter, companionship and fun into someone’s day?
We’re looking for a warm, creative and genuinely caring individual to join our live in care team and support a lovely lady in her own home.
This isn’t simply a job where you tick boxes and work through a care plan. We’re looking for someone who can see the person behind the care needs, someone who enjoys conversation, has a good sense of humour, and can turn an ordinary Tuesday into something a little more memorable.
Our client enjoys nature, board games, crosswords and good company, we’d love someone who can bring their own ideas too. Maybe it’s a game of cards, a crossword challenge, watching something together or simply sitting down for a proper chat. The little things really do make a big difference.
What will you be doing?
You’ll be part of an established home care team who visit four times a day, working alongside them to provide continuity, companionship and support.
Your role will include:
- Supporting with personal care, dressing, grooming and everyday routines
- Providing medication support as prescribed and keeping an eye out for any changes in wellbeing
- Supporting with mobility, transfers and using care equipment
- Helping our client feel safe, comfortable and confident in her own home
- Creating meaningful activities and moments of enjoyment, based around her interests and personality
- Encouraging independence and helping her to live a life she loves, not simply a life centred around care
- Keeping the home clean, comfortable and organised
- Recording care and communicating any concerns or changes to the management team
- Supporting with appointments, outings and social activities when required
Who are we looking for?
We’re looking for someone who is:
Kind, patient, reliable, a good listener, a little bit creative and ideally someone who doesn’t mind getting competitive over a board game!
Previous experience in care is essential, and we are particularly interested in people who have experience supporting individuals who use moving and handling equipment and have undertaken live in care work previously.
You’ll need to be confident communicating with others and able to build a genuine rapport with the person you support.
A 2 hour daily break is provided.
If you’re travelling to the Island, transport from the ferry terminal to the home address can be arranged with our office team at the start of the placement.
