Role/Team overview
As a Technical Product Owner, you will work closely with product colleagues, engineers, architects and engineering teams to shape and deliver high quality technical solutions. You will help keep everyone aligned, support clear communication and ensure that the work delivered is maintainable and meets the needs of the business.
You’ll be part of the Cross Product Service Experience Portfolio within the Tech Product Directorate. Our vision is simple: to better understand customers so every interaction is simple and personalised to bring them the joy of a better experience. Our teams work across app, web and assisted channels, building cross product capabilities under our four key strategic themes. Simple & Digital, Care & Human Connection, Proactive & Predictive and Flexibility & Control.
This Role is within the App & Account Manangemet Agile Release Train and will be key in delivering Sky’s ambition to enhance our customers Mobile App experience throughout 2026 and beyond.
What you’ll do
Lead on technical analysis; breaking down complex App features and capabilities into development ready user stories.
Support ART level analysis and refinement of features where required
Write clear and detailed user stories with testable acceptance criteria and measurable benefits.
Prioritise stories and define sprint backlog and goals for squad
Read and interpret technical documentation, including system specifications and architecture diagrams, and use these to guide decisions.
Build a strong understanding of how our systems work, how software is developed, tested and released.
Contribute to agile ceremonies and support good practice across the team, using your knowledge of Agile, Scrum and the Agile for Sky framework.
What you’ll bring
In-depth experience in a business analysis, technical product management or technical product ownership role, with demonstrated working knowledge and hands-on experience within digital domains.
Strong business analysis skills with technology knowledge and experience influencing & working with system engineers & product managers as well as senior stakeholders Heads of Product
Proactive and self-organising, with the ability to drive and prioritise your own workload as well as the Capabilities and Features to be worked upon.
Strong communication, collaboration & analysis skills
Demonstrated success in facilitating communication and problem solving between business and technology teams

How you’ll work
We've adopted a hybrid working approach to give more flexibility on where and how we work. The hybrid working expectations for this role are 2 days in the office per week.
Your office base
Location for this position is flexible, we are accepting candidates who are able to work Hybrid in either our Livingston, Leeds or Osterley office.
Osterley

Livingston Watermark
Sky Watermark is our central site for Livingston, sitting between Glasgow and Edinburgh. With vibrant office spaces, chill-out areas, and an onsite canteen, it’s a great place to work and connect.
The nearest train station is Livingston North. A Sky shuttle bus runs between the station and campus every 20 minutes throughout the day. Plus, there’s onsite parking available for cars, motorbikes and bicycles.
Leeds Whitehall
Leeds Whitehall is home to our Digital Tech hub and Contact Centre teams. With vibrant office spaces, chill-out areas, a multi-faith room and restaurant, it’s a great place to work and connect. We’re located just a 10-minute walk from the train station and there’s a bus stop directly outside the office.
