The Role
As Front Line Manager, you'll be responsible for creating a positive, high-performing culture where people are motivated, customers receive outstanding service, and business goals are consistently achieved.
You'll lead from the front, supporting your team to deliver against customer expectations while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, service quality and profitability.
What You'll Be Doing
- Leading, coaching and developing a team of Service Delivery Coordinators.
- Creating a positive and engaging team culture focused on performance and customer satisfaction.
- Building strong relationships with customers, drivers and internal stakeholders.
- Acting as the main escalation point for operational and customer issues.
- Identifying challenges early and implementing effective solutions.
- Taking ownership of pricing and job costing decisions to maximise profitability.
- Ensuring excellent communication throughout the customer journey.
- Driving performance against service levels, KPIs and commercial targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular 1-2-1s, performance reviews and annual appraisals.
- Support employee growth through coaching, mentoring and training.
- Manage attendance, annual leave and workforce planning.
- Monitor customer interactions and service quality, providing constructive feedback and support.
- Ensure accurate customer and driver pricing.
- Manage invoicing preparation, invoice queries and driver discrepancies.
- Collaborate with Account Managers and Commercial teams to support business growth.
- Identify and implement process improvements that enhance customer service and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, Health & Safety standards and statutory requirements.
What We're Looking For
Essential
- At least 3 years' experience managing and developing people.
- A proven track record of leading high-performing teams.
- Outstanding communication and relationship-building skills.
- Strong organisational and planning abilities.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach to problem-solving.
- High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple teams.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Adaptability within a dynamic operational environment.
- Ambition to continue developing your leadership career.
Desirable
- Level 3 Leadership qualification (or willingness to work towards one).
- Experience within logistics, transport or service delivery operations.
- Knowledge or experience of Dangerous Goods.
