Priority Transport is seeking an experienced & skilled Hiab operator with an HGV Class 1 licence to join our friendly team based out of our depot in Willand.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering throughout England, Scotland & Wales using our 85t and 65t Hiabs.
We sling, lift and transport all types of freight including cabins, containers, signs, machinery, generators, pumps, tanks, & construction equipment so you should be comfortable & confident in slinging a variety of different items and be able to lift in a safe, efficient organised manner.
The position is mainly Monday through Friday with very little weekend work but does involve up to 4 nights out a week so you should be prepared to stay away.
You should be able to demonstrate to us the following:
- Your ability to work alone and adhere to deadlines
- Have a good knowledge and be able to work within EU regulations hours
- Good organisational and communication skills.
- Have a professional approach and a ‘can do’ attitude
- Be customer focused and aim to give the best possible service
- Be willing to keep your vehicle clean & presentable at all times
- Able to conduct daily walk around checks for truck, trailer & crane
- Perform basic maintenance tasks to include some on site assembly
- To work in a safe manner respecting all H&S requirements
- Maintain accurate records & be able to use Company provided software
Qualifications & Requirements
- Class 1 HGV (Cat C+E) drivers licence
- Full Drivers CPC Qualification
- Drivers digital tachograph card
- In date ALLMI Card with unlimited hook class or CPCS Qualification
- In date ALLMI or CPCS Slingers qualification (ideal but not essential)
- Minimum One (Ideally two) years HGV Experience
- Minimum one years proven experience on unlimited hook work
