Boys & Boden Builders Merchants is a successful, well-established and expanding Independent Builders Merchants.
We require a Transit and Trailer Driver to complete deliveries of stock between the depots and to customer addresses.
This role will start from Welshpool branch at 7AM each day and will involve a stock transfer to and from Newtown Branch as well as multi drop deliveries to customer locations there after in the Newtown area.
In quieter periods, we would expect you to assist our yard staff with serving customers, general tidiness in the yard and picking of stock.
Combined duties include:
Responsibilities and Duties
Serving customers on yard and through deliveries
Accurately picking and checking orders.
Storing stock safely.
Maintaining a tidy and safe working environment.
Timber cutting.
Attention to detail when booking stock out on system
Checking incoming goods against supplier’s delivery note.
Providing excellent customer service.
Experience:
· A clean current driving licence, for all relevant vehicles
. Experience of pulling a Trailer previously
. Basic Computer knowledge
. Tachograph Experience and a Digital Tacho Card is desirable, but not essential.
· The driver will be required to use a forklift, therefore a counterbalance Forklift Certificate is desirable, but not essential.
· In addition to deliveries the candidate will need to undertake manual handling.
Working Hours:
Monday to Thursday 7.00am to 5.30pm
Friday 7.00am to 5.00pm
