General Manager – We’re Looking for Someone with a Difference!
We’re looking for an experienced General Manager who really understands hospitality.
For us, great hospitality is about more than serving good food and drink. It’s about obsessing over the customer experience, noticing the small details and making every visit feel like a journey with us.
We’re a small, independent family business, so this isn’t a role where you’ll simply be expected to follow a corporate handbook. We want someone who will take real ownership of the pub, bring ideas to the table and help us continue building a business we can all be proud of.
The person we’re looking for
Our ideal General Manager will be:
- Reliable and dependable
- Naturally customer focused
- Positive, cheerful and approachable
- Experienced in managing a busy, food-led hospitality business
- A strong leader with the energy and personality to build, motivate and develop a great team
- Commercially aware and interested in growing the business
- Organised and always looking ahead
- Proactive in planning for events, celebrations, seasonal occasions and opportunities
- Someone who notices the little things and constantly asks, “How can we make this better?”
The role
As General Manager, you’ll have overall responsibility for the day-to-day running of the pub, across both front and back of house.
You’ll lead the team, maintain high standards, deliver fantastic customer experiences and ensure the whole business operates as it should.
Most importantly, we want you to treat the pub as if it were your own.
What we can offer
Because we’re a small family business, your ideas can genuinely make a difference.
Working within our overall vision, you’ll have the freedom to try new ideas, develop the customer experience and take pride in helping us become one of the best pubs around.
We offer:
- Competitive base salary
- Clear and achievable performance targets
- Bonus structure and incentives for growing the business
- Genuine input into how the pub develops
- The opportunity to build and develop your own team
- 5 days out of 7, averaging approximately 50 hours per week
- Live-in accommodation may be available following successful completion of probation, subject to applicable low-cost rent and terms
If you’re an experienced hospitality manager who loves great food, great service and creating places that customers genuinely want to return to, we’d love to hear from you.
