Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Tyre Fitter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of vehicle tyres, possess mechanical aptitude, and be capable of delivering excellent customer service. This role involves working in a fast-paced environment, performing tyre replacements, repairs, and maintenance tasks to ensure vehicle safety and optimal performance. The position offers an opportunity to develop technical skills within a professional workshop setting.
Duties
- Remove and replace tyres on various types of vehicles using hand tools and power tools
- Inspect tyres for damage, wear, and tear; advise customers on suitable replacements or repairs
- Balance tyres to ensure smooth operation and minimise vibration during driving
- Perform routine maintenance tasks related to tyre fitting equipment and workshop cleanliness
- Assist with wheel alignment and other vehicle maintenance procedures as required
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and manufacturer specifications
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining work carried out and addressing customer queries effectively
Requirements
- Mechanical knowledge with experience in tyre fitting or automotive maintenance preferred
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when handling tyres and wheels (up to 23kg or more)
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on safety standards
- Good communication skills for interacting with customers and team members
- Prior experience in vehicle maintenance or related field is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a busy workshop environment
