We are seeking a team of dedicated seasonal Potato Graders near Newport (Shropshire ) starting from July until late November 2026 . The ideal candidates will be responsible for assessing and grading potatoes as part of a team , ensuring quality standards are met. This role requires a combination of loading and unloading , physical tasks including heavy lifting of potato bags and standing on a moving conveyor belt working at speed . A passion for working in a agricultural setting is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Assess and grade potatoes based on established quality standards.
- Following the grading process working undercover within a farm barn/ shed
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas to promote safety and efficiency.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve production goals and maintain workflow.
- Working at speed grading freshly harvested potatoes by hand in a dusty environment
- Availability to work full time from July to late October
Skills
- Harvesting, farming or food production conveyor belt experience essential
- Ability to work on a fast paced conveyor belt
- Basic math's skills for accurate measurement and assessment of materials.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the role.
- Own reliable transport due to rural location of farm
Hours/ Days of work:
- Monday to Friday
- 8am to 4pm /5pm (finish time will vary subject to weather / number of orders therefor flexibility is required
Pay:
Due to the rural location of our client , own transport is the form of a car or motorbike is essential
