Thermokleen Ltd is a specialist industrial cleaning company operating nationwide, with our base in Failsworth, Manchester. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Team Leader to oversee hygiene and cleaning operations across a range of sites, primarily within the food‑production sector. This is a hands‑on supervisory role requiring strong leadership, excellent attention to detail, and a firm commitment to safety and hygiene standards.
For logistical reasons, the successful candidate must live within the Greater Manchester area.
Salary: £38,000–£44,000
Realistic earnings may exceed £45,000 depending on additional hours worked.
What you'll be doing:
- Leading small hygiene teams on customer sites
- Ensuring all work is carried out safely and in line with RAMS
- Working at height (MEWPs, access platforms, high‑level cleaning)
- Confined‑space entry when required (e.g. silo cleaning - full training provided)
- General industrial cleaning and maintenance
- Delivering toolbox talks and safety briefings
- Liaising with clients, engineers, and site contacts
- Completing accurate job reports and documentation
- Supporting training and development of team members
What we're looking for:
(All requirements below are essential)
- Based in the Manchester area
- Full UK driving licence held for at least two years, confident driving vans such as a Ford Transit or larger
- Proven track record of successfully supervising industrial hygiene operatives with consistent results and high standards
- Strong understanding of food‑production hygiene, safety protocols, and compliance
- Hands‑on approach with the ability to lead by example
- Physically fit and able to work at height and in confined spaces
- Reliable, professional, and able to communicate clearly and respectfully
- Willing to work additional hours and variable hours, including weekends when needed
- Willing to work away from home when required
- Comfortable working in a safety‑critical environment where standards must be consistently high
