Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Commis Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist in food preparation, support kitchen operations, and contribute to delivering exceptional dining experiences. Duties
- Assist in preparing ingredients and cooking dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Support senior chefs in food presentation and plating to ensure visual appeal
- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness in all kitchen areas
- Contribute to the organisation of food storage, stock rotation, and inventory management
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during service periods
- Supervise junior staff when required, providing guidance on food preparation and safety procedures
- Assist in the development of new menu items and culinary techniques under supervision
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is used correctly and maintained properly
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a professional kitchen or hospitality setting is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene regulations
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Good communication skills and team management abilities
- Demonstrated passion for culinary arts and hospitality service
- Supervising experience or leadership qualities are advantageous
- Experience in food production, cooking, and restaurant service is preferred
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, or public holidays as required
