Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Room Leader to oversee the care and development of infants within our childcare facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a passion for working with children and fostering a nurturing environment. This role offers an opportunity to lead a team, ensure high standards of childcare, and contribute positively to early childhood development.
Duties
- Lead and supervise a team, ensuring smooth daily operations and adherence to childcare policies.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote early learning and development.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating environment for infants under your care.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding their child's progress and needs.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including safeguarding procedures.
- Support team members through training, mentoring, and performance management.
- Monitor individual children's development and keep accurate records of progress.
- Organise resources and materials necessary for engaging activities and daily routines.
- Drive continuous improvement in childcare quality through reflective practice and professional development.
Requirements
- Proven management experience within a childcare setting, preferably in a nursery or early childhood education environment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team effectively.
- Experience working directly with children, demonstrating patience and understanding.
- Knowledge of childcare regulations, safeguarding policies, and early childhood development principles.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Relevant qualifications in early childhood education or childcare (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
- Ability to work flexibly within scheduled hours, including occasional driving if required for nursery-related duties.
- A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their growth in a caring environment.
