We're now looking for a Repairs Engineer to join our busy Service Centre in Crawley. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for technology, hardware repairs, and problem-solving to develop their skills within a supportive and growing team. Whether you're experienced in laptop repairs or have a strong technical background and are keen to build your expertise, we'll provide training and support to help you succeed.
The Role
As a Device Repairs Engineer, you'll play a vital role in diagnosing, repairing and restoring laptops and other devices used by schools throughout the UK. You'll work closely with colleagues across our Operations team, ensuring repairs are completed to a high standard whilst delivering an excellent service experience for our customers. No two days are the same, and you'll have the opportunity to work with a wide range of devices and technologies while developing your technical expertise.
What You'll Be Doing
Device Diagnostics & Repairs

Assess incoming laptops and identify faults, defects and accidental damage.

Carry out hardware repairs, upgrades and modifications within your skillset.

Install and configure Windows operating systems.

Ensure all repairs are completed to a high standard, including device cleaning and reassembly.

Support quality assurance processes by accurately recording diagnostic findings and repair outcomes.

Maintain ESD processes and workshop standards.
Customer Support & Service

Update repair tickets and customer records accurately using our service management systems.

Contribute to delivering exceptional customer service and positive customer experiences.
Continuous Improvement

Suggest improvements to processes and services.

Support colleagues across the Operations department when required.

Take ownership of your work and contribute to maintaining high standards across the team.
About You

Essential Skills & Experience

Previous experience in an IT repair, service desk or technical support environment.

Experience building, repairing or upgrading computer hardware.

Good technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately.

Good written and verbal communication skills.

Positive, proactive and customer-focused approach.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable

Experience diagnosing laptop hardware faults.

Familiarity with Windows installation and configuration.

Understanding of ESD-safe working practices.
