Site Manager
TF Jackson
Whaley Bridge
Are you an experienced, seasoned Site Manager who’s been there, seen it, done it — and still has the energy to roll up your sleeves and build something properly?
We’re looking for someone to take ownership of one of our projects to manage from start to finish.
The Site Manager shall report directly to the Operations Manager and shall work in close coordination with the Site Supervisor for all day-to-day site operations, workforce coordination, and issue escalation.
The Reality
Let’s be upfront — this is a hands-on, fast-moving, and at times rough-around-the-edges environment.
- Systems and processes need to be managed
- You’ll need to be comfortable working in a space that’s still evolving
- Open and secure the site each day.
- Ensure works commence safely and in accordance with RAMS and the construction programme.
- Coordinate labour, subcontractors, plant, deliveries, and materials.
- Allocate daily work in conjunction with the Site Supervisor.
- Monitor progress against programme milestones.
- Identify delays and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure adequate resources are available for planned works.
- Manage interfaces between trades and subcontractors.
- Maintain site security and welfare standards.
What We’re Really Looking For
This role needs a balance that’s hard to find:
- Someone with the experience and confidence to know what “good” looks like
- But also the energy and drive to get stuck in and make it happen
You might be someone who:
- Has run Sites and Projects before and understands what works (and what doesn’t)
- Is just as comfortable on the floor as you are planning improvements
- Doesn’t wait for perfect conditions — you make progress with what’s there
- Takes ownership and enjoys building something from the ground up
What You’ll Be Doing
The Site Manager shall:
- Report directly to the Operations Manager on all operational, commercial, safety, programme, and staffing matters.
- Liaise continuously with the Site Supervisor regarding:
- daily work allocation,
- labour deployment,
- subcontractor coordination,
- site issues and delays,
- health & safety observations,
- material shortages,
- plant requirements,
- quality concerns,
- personnel matters requiring escalation.
- Escalate all significant issues, incidents, programme risks, commercial variations, and safety breaches to the Operations Manager on the same working day.
Health & Safety
- Conduct a daily site safety inspection.
- Ensure compliance with the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and CDM Regulations 2015.
- Ensure all operatives wear appropriate PPE.
- Monitor housekeeping and access routes.
- Stop unsafe work immediately.
- Ensure RAMS are available and followed.
- Record and report accidents, near misses, and safety observations.
- Ensure emergency procedures and first aid arrangements remain operational.
Quality Management
- Inspect completed works daily.
- Ensure works comply with drawings, specifications, and client requirements.
- Manage snagging and defect rectification.
- Coordinate inspections with the client, consultants, and subcontractors.
- Maintain quality records and photographic evidence.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in a Site management role
- A track record of improving or setting up operations
- A hands-on, practical mindset — someone who leads from the front
- The ability to bring structure and clarity into a developing environment
- Strong communication and collaboration across teams
Desirable:
- Manufacturing or engineering background
- ERP exposure (SAP, Enterpryze or similar)
- Familiarity with lean or organisational principles (5S, Kaizan, etc.)
