Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in delivering high-quality meals and ensuring smooth kitchen operations. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in developing their skills within a professional catering or restaurant environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with meal preparation, food safety, and maintaining a clean and organised kitchen space. Prior experience in catering, cooking, or food service is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided to the right candidate.
Duties
- Assist with food preparation and meal assembly in accordance with established recipes and standards
- Support the kitchen team in maintaining cleanliness and organisation of workstations and equipment
- Help with basic cooking tasks under supervision, ensuring food safety and hygiene protocols are followed
- Prepare ingredients such as washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning to facilitate efficient service
- Assist with serving meals to customers or guests as required
- Ensure all food safety standards are adhered to during preparation and storage of ingredients
- Support stock rotation and inventory management by monitoring supplies and notifying relevant personnel of shortages or expiry dates
- Maintain a positive attitude whilst working efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Experience
- Previous experience in catering, restaurant work, or food preparation is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided for suitable candidates
- Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and meal preparation processes
- Familiarity with food safety standards and hygiene practices within a commercial kitchen setting
- Experience working in a team-oriented environment with excellent organisational skills
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and work efficiently under supervision

Pay: £12.21-£16.63 per hour
